6 Weeks Into Fall Semester

So...It's really been a month and a half - and I have accomplished a lot in such little time! Thanks to college (and also thanks to a very good professor!), I have learned more about literary criticism than I ever have in the previous 4 years. I have read 2 detective fiction novels, have written 2 papers, taken like 6 quizzes, and read quite a bit of other assigned work - including some of Huckleberry Finn  by Mark Twain. I have to say that I have never had to read this story before, and I have enjoyed it so far - So much better than I thought it would be! Yeah - that is half my life right there...

And in other news, my baby boy is turning 1 year old in about a week! Oh joy - the triumph of motherhood has hit me now - it's quite a task, and I really have enjoyed the ride so far! A challenge that is worth every second - even with it's ups and downs!

I am still waiting on commission items for my Minifees:

a) A Shushu head face-up
b) A MNF custom pair of jeans
c) A MNF custom clothes set
d) 2 MNF custom hoodies

I can't wait to get those, and to be able to purchase another mnf body for my soon-to-be floating head!

Waiting

I am currently waiting on three different types of commissions. Some I have been waiting for over a month , the others some weeks - not too much of a sweat. I am also waiting on stuff purchased online (BJD stuff mostly) - but yeah - yada, yada, yada.

I am sadly shifting my preferences from tinies to minies in the BJD world. I like tinies, but I really, really like and enjoy the minies a lot more! And so I am currently trying to sell another one of my tinies: A Luts Honey Delf Pitta - /sigh - I need to gather up more currency to afford a mnf ns body.

How's school you ask? Not bad, but not great either - go figure!

Here's to another weekend full of BLAH!

One of my commissioned hoodies from krazykimochi [on Den of Angels] will have this sticker on it!

September 11 - Ten Years Later

Ten years ago, a day like today was a day that many knew as a frightful nightmare. I salute all of those people who helped clear the rubble, and send a prayer to all of those directly affected by the tragedy. But today I have the chance to always remember it as my nephew's baby shower. A day of celebration for a new life - no grief, just happiness and excitement. For one day I can rejoice that I will be an important part of another little person's life, in a different way than being a mother. I can look into the future and see the bad, and the good - and ultimately smile. I hope that today many more can share in my experience and make it a day of hope and joy, and less grief!

Just Random ...

I used to live for the weekends, because it meant time away from the mundane day to day jabber of life, and that some good family time was in order. Now I just feel sad and empty when Saturday rolls around. The family has branched out, some have made their own lives, and most have forgotten how fun it was to hang out together. And it's not my immediate family I'm talking about, just aunts, cousins, etc - we used to get together every other weekend or so. We now get together maybe 4 times a year to celebrate the highly marketable holiday seasons - and that's just sad. I guess I shouldn't feel so bad, since I kind of have a life of my own - even if sometimes I pretend I don't. Maybe I just need some magic happy thinking juice or something.

But other than that, tomorrow is my sister's baby shower - and that should bring some of the family together! I can't wait to hold my nephew - it will be a very exciting day when he's finally here!

College oh college! I can't say classes are treating me badly - this semester is going way better than I thought it was ever going to be...but then again only 3 weeks have gone by so far. But I have 100% on all of my classes so far - go me! I am really looking forward to next year - for some reason - don't ask me why. Maybe it's because it will be the last, who knows. Anyhow - I don't want to leave on a sour note, so here; I will post a picture of some cute msd shoes I got for (headless) Abigail from DDE. They are Boneka leather shoes!

I really like these shoes! <3

Reading IS Fun!

So, I'm reading Sue Grafton's novel, "A is for Alibi" and I can't put it down for too long! It's assigned for one of my English classes this semester, and I believe that I will have it read before the day is over - so far I like where it's going, I always knew that I liked detective type plots, but never decided on reading about it - so thanks to this class, this semester is going to rock!

Awesome sauce!

In other news, I am glad that I have nothing important to write for the weekend - quizzes, and papers are done, now a real weekend of rest! Looking forward to this Sunday, because it is my baby sisters baby shower! I still can't believe that I will be an aunt soon, it's pretty cool and all - I'm sure it's less stressful than being a mom! I love my boy - and his spoiled self knows it! That's another thing I have to plan for - he will be a year old in a little bit less than a month - and it's all crazy - have to plan for a little birthday party sort of thing with family - should be nice!

Trying to keep it all organized!

Mega Rant

Why is it that when I need to get something done, I can't muster up the energy to do so? All I ever want to do these days is lay around and be a vegetable [not literally]. I feel exhausted all the time, mentally and physically - and I can't blame my little son - I have to suck it up and have half my day sucked up by him (feeding, cleaning, watching,etc.).

Sometimes (very often) I wish that I shouldn't have started college, not only because I believe it's going to ruin me, but because I just don't see myself making big bucks with an English/Lit bachelors degree, and I definitely don't have the time or money to get a masters; at least not anytime soon. I kind of want a mindless job, I will still feel exhausted, but will at least feel better about providing for my family, instead of worrying about term papers, and assignments for dumb-ass classes that have nothing to do with what I ultimately want to do with my life! Good grief - I want to shoot someone!

Irritating content

So, I really hate it when I order something from Amazon that is supposed to get to me within 2-3 business days, and instead it takes the longer amount of time to get here. Now I have to go to Hastings and re-purchase the stupid book I ordered, not because I want to read it so bad-but because I have to have 9 chapters read by Wednesday, and I don't have the luxury of waiting until Tuesday to see if UPS decides to knock on my door and freakin' deliver my book. Gotta love being an English major - and a procrastinator - for the win!

EDIT:

Yeah - so Hastings did NOT have the damn book - but I do own a Nook Color, and I guess I should have purchased it there from the start...shake my damn head!

The Good 'ol Resin Batch

I want to share my resin family with all of you!

I have eight dolls so far, and I am patiently waiting for a Minifee Chloe from a lady in Denmark - got her on the DoA marketplace!

My first doll was going to be a Doll Love Yoyo: Orchid (pink hair) , but while waiting for her to get made and shipped from the company I decided to go into the secondhand market and purchase another doll, which became my real 1st! She is a BlueFairy ShinyFairy May: Luna (curly brown hair). Then I really wanted a 1/12th scale doll so I decided to purchased another second hand doll, my 1st Felix Brownie Shally Elf doll: Illiana (blue hair) - then I said: "I need a pet!", and I got a Dollzone Pet Fox with custom Face-up: Cass (not in picture). In between deciding to buy her I got my first boy, an Angel of Dream Aiai: Jacob (green feather hat). After that I really wanted an MSD sized doll so I purchased a Resinsoul Mei in white skin resin from the DoA marketplace and named her Rayen - but decided that white resin was not for me (and now I like it again >.<), but I sold her and purchased a DollFairyland Minifee Shushu instead: Abigail (not in picture, head out for a faceup). Then I wanted another Felix Brownie doll so that Illiana wouldn't feel so lonely as the tiniest of tinies, so I got a Sarah Haha: Madeline (blonde hair) from the marketplace, and then impulsively enough I saw a Luts Honey Delf Pitta on the marketplace, so I decided to give her a home: Elise (last one by elimination), and now I am at that happy point where I love my dollies and I think I should not get anymore for a while!

Starting Out

In an age where everyone is constantly sharing information about life experiences, choices, and opportunities - I felt that it was time for me to open up a page and share some of my opinions on random crap I come across.

I will most likely try to post links to things that make me in particular, happy - or mad, more than likely the latter. Or I will rant about my day - specially if I have a crummy day on campus, or just in general. I might give shout outs, and try to get you hooked on things I like - but if that fails, I will have managed to at least waste a bit of your precious time making you read my pointless gibberish! On that note: welcome to my poetic litany.

Today I want to say thank you to all the bloggers out there that I follow for inspiring me to create my own blog - yay!
